Soon to be married...

Mia and i met this beautifull bride-to-be this weekend at a central hotel in Stockholm and photographed her for her "morgongåva" album, which will be offered to the lucky bridegroom the morning after the wedding day, approximately in a month's time.

A trend that has been going on for many years in the USA under the name "boudoir photos", has also become very common in Sweden the last two years.

More soon-to-be brides are asking for it and many of them choose one of the best hotels in town to treat their selves in luxury and elegance.

Jessica "trashes her dress"!

Jessica came to Stockholm all the way from Gävle this Monday afternoon, just to trash the wedding dress.

You certenly know that this is the last trend on wedding photography, don't you? :-)

Unfortunately the weather was not the best possible but that did not keep her from jumping in the water. 

We photographed for about 2 hours and it was many passers-by that stopped to have a look, at the Haga park at Frescati.

After the session we continued to a nearby coffee shop with warm coffee and tea ...

If you happen to visit Visby, at the island of Gotland, in Sweden, and you pass by this sign, don't think twice! Go inside!

It's name has actually nothing to do with it's status today:

Three dance floors, balconies and terracies, bars and restaurants, everything housed in an old building under the same "roof".

Not much in common with it's past ... :-)

Destination Gotland !!!

It feels sooo good!

Today i am traveling to Gotland to meet Elisabeth and Andreas! 

The weather is beautiful, it is warm and sunny, i have a friend as company and assistance at the session tommorow and the mood is at it's best.

This evening we are invited at the BBQ party that the couple is offering to its guests. Tommorow is the wedding and on Sunday  is sightseeing in Visby and eventually a "Trash the Dress" session (if the couple has the courage after the party with the guests the night before)!

To be honest i feel a little guilty having this sort "holiday" because i have not blogged for a while and it is so much work waiting...

Chilling out with tennis!

After the last two weeks' intensiv work it felt just so natural to chill out a little from photographing commissioned sessions.

I met with my friend Jannis,  also a photographer, and together we spent many hours photographing the tennis finals at the "Nordic Light Open" tournament, in Stockholm.

Since my equipment, and especially the zoom lens, are not really the best for this sort of pictures, i just "played" with the camera in case i should be lucky to get a nice picture. Then, i continued playing with the photos in Photoshop! :-)

" I don't know how to pose! "

Ulrika and Peter are getting married this Saturday. They will get married on board, on the boat that will carry them and their guests from Stockholm to Dalarö, a beautiful island at the swedish archipelago.

I had met the couple some weeks ago to discuss about their wedding photography and we met again this afternoon to take some pictures and get to know itsother a little bit.

Both of them claimed that it did not really feel so comfortable to hug each other and express feelings in front of other people. They were rather shy and those moments were too intimate... Oh, yes! They also did not know how they should pose for the photos!

When i tried to start photographing Ulrika, she just raised her arms laughing "... but i don't know how to pooose!"

A bride with attitude!

Beautiful Elena and Soleil got married yesterday at the Ulriksdals Slott, under heavy rain!

The ceremony took just a few minutes and the pooring rain did not manage to spoil the hapiness and the joy of the newly weds.

The brides wedding dress was marvelous and the red stripes on her white shoes was a colourful contradiction to the mood of the weather!

Indian wedding!

Fatima got married to her dearest Salim this weekend and the wedding festivities lasted for 4 whole days!

The wedding took place in Stockholm, where the bride is from. The bride groom came from England, where he permanently lives and their guests came from England, Australia, Kanada, the States, India and Dubai!

It was amazing to have the pleasure to follow the festivities and photograph them all 4 days, as well as to get to meet the couple's families and guests who made as feel more than comfortable with them.

Soon we are going to show here a series of photos from all days but first we have to go through some 5.000 pictures to choose from!

Yelena Isinbayeva!

Who Yelena is does not need to be explained for anyone interested in classic athletism and especially the women's pole vault.

I had the chance to meet her two years ago in Stadion, Stockholm, where she participated and, of course won.

I was amazed by how polite and humble she is! Always smiling and always replying "of course!" to all the demanding reporters and photographers who flock around her asking for her attention.

I met her again at Stadion, after she had just won (again!), on her way to the changing room.

She was stopped lots of times for pictures, interviews and autographs and she did not mind at all to come back from the corridor leading to the dressing rooms, when i called her and asked if i might photograph her!

"of course, of course!" she smiled and asked what she should do.

I photographed her hands, still dirty after her efforts to jump higher than 5 meters.

Being the only woman in the world who has ever jumped higher than 5 meters, and having broken the world record 21 times, it feels that she is going for a new record at the Olympics in Beijing next month!

DN-Galan 2008

I am in love!!!

Yesterday i attended the sports meeting at Stadion in Stockholm, taking pictures that will be used as feature pictures in different articles as well as the webpage of the University of Stockholm.
Nikon was also there to support the proffesional photographers of the meeting and lend them equipment to use and test.

I borrowed a Nikon "D3" and a "AF-S 70-200/2,8 G ED VR"!
What a combination!
Beautiful, sharp photos every time, that almost don't need any kind of post produktion at all!

I loooove this camera!
(i wish i had borrowed also the AF-S 400/2,8 G ED VR, but at the price it has and at the kilos it weighs maybe i was lucky not to...)

Our 080808 couple in the Hallwylska museum.

I met Johanna and Micke a couple of days ago and we visited the place where they are going to get married.





First "Wow!" for what a place they have chosen for the ceremony! Both outdoors and (especially) indoors the whole museum is so beautifull, stylish and elegant!





Second (and even louder) "Wow!" for how much in love both of them are to each other! One can easily see on the photos how they feel when they hug and kiss each other, their lough, the way they look at each other...







I am so much looking forward to photographing their wedding ceremony as well as to following them to Grand Hotell for the bride's toast and the reception!

" The birds!!! "

We where in Vimmerby, sitting outdoors late in the evening and enjoying a drink at the bar of the Stadshotell there, when a sudden sound scared the birds that where sitting on the roofs of the surrounding buildings and they started flying!

Oh boy! The sky became almost black and it reminded me immedaitely of the famous horror film, dericted by Alfred Hitchcock in 1963!

The irony was that we where at the village where the famous "Astrid Lindgren's World" is wellcoming hundreds of thousands of children with their families every year!

What a wonderfull place it is, both for children as well as adults!

So many activities, so much to see and try and so many happy faces of small children, full of exhitement and laugh!

Wedding near the water ...

Niklas och Sandra got marrried a very warm Saturday at Värmdö.

The wedding took place near the water, just a couple of hundret meters from their summer house, at their favourit beach. They stayed under the very same tree that was also painted on their wedding-invitations.
