Beatrice and Christoffer

The day was just beautiful yesterday and found me photographing at the Bromma kyrka, which is not only very picturesque but it is also one of the oldest in Stockholm, from aprox. 1160 aC  (it was built as a tower to protect the city).

Both Beatrice and Christoffer were stressed before the ceremony. They met first time in the church and was a joy to see the expressions changing on the face of the bridegroom, when he got the first glimpse of the bride!

After the ceremony, the newwde couple with their guests went to the Ängby slott where the reception was held.

Today it's the Orthodox Good Friday".

Today it is the Good Friday for the Orthodox christians.

It's these days that i really miss being in Greece, to celebrate the Easter at the Holy mount Athos!

The picture above is from that place during a visit there two years ago.

If you wonder why is the Easter celebrated sometimes the same day but most often during different days at the Orthodox and the Catholic churches check here (unfortunately everuthing is only in ... greek).

Some etymology about the name of the day can be found here.

Listen to the hymn of the day here!

Five days festivities for Indian wedding!!!

Yesterday i had the pleasure to meet Fatima and Salim in Stockholm.

Fatima was born and lives in Stockholm while Salim was born and lives in England. Both of them have roots in India and their wedding is going to be according to the Indian traditions, here in Stockholm.

Well, the traditions are many and that's why the wedding will take five whole days, this summer, with one day dedicated just to the reception!

I met Salim for the first time yesterday while in a short visit in Sweden. We spent only some minutes for taking pictures (it was really cold after the sunset) but that was quite enough to see how much they love eachother and how easy going and happy persons they both are!

I am really looking forward to their wedding days (as much as they are)! :-)

Keep an eye on this page, it's gonna be full coverage of this fabulous wedding!

The spring has arrived!

Yesterday i was at Kungsträdgården to meet a couple that is going to get married in July.

The weather was wonderful, the sun was shining and there were hundrets of people lying under the sun, enjoying their koffee or ice-cream.

But the most amazing was the colours of the flowers! The beauty of the nature waking up, pictured on the faces of the younger generation!

Photos for the new homepage of the library of Stockholms University.

Finally we are ready with the photos from the Library of the University of Stockholm!

It has taken us quite a few visits there to photograph as much as possible, while trying to be as unnoticed as possible. It's not so polite to disturb all those students reading there ...

My personal exhibition at "Stockholms läns" museum!

A couple of weeks ago i was contacted by the producer of the museum who, after the recommendations by the diocese of Stockholm, asked me for pictures of the bishop.
I looked at our arkives and finally we chose a whole body picture where she is dressed in the ecclesiastic clothes, that was printed in actual size and, with the permition of the bishop, the face was removed. The project has as a purpose that the visitors will be able to stay behind the picture and place their own faces where the pictures' face is missing, so that they will be able to have a glimpse of how they would look like as bishops themselves!!!

Well one of my pictures is printed in almost 2 x 0,5 meters and is exhibited for the public in the museum.

Then i suppose i shall not be lieing if i add in my CV "personal exhibition at Stockholms Läns museum" ! ;-))

GLAD PÅSK!!! HAPPY EASTER!!!

"... For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. ..." (John 3:16-17)

(the photo is from the wonderful mosaics of the Chora Monastery, in Istanbul)

Ingela, Viktor and their little Tilde!

This morning i photographed the little Tilde at her grandparent's home.
It was at the same place i had photographed her mother Ingela, three months ago, just a few days before she gave birth to this little angel!

(big thank you to the grandparents for not only allowing us to photograph at their home but also permitting us to "redecorate" their living-room by moving all the furniture and putting up the studio lights and equipment!)

The Ericson couple met with their children and their families at Ulriksdals Wärdshus Drottning Sylvia Paviljong, to celebrate their 50 years of love and life together!

The couple shone from happiness and they were more than happy to be photographed with their granddaughters!

The Mr Universe of the future!

My parents came to visit us some days ago.
For my father, at the age of 73, it was the first time to come to Sweden and the second time to fly in his whole life.

The children were amazed to meet them again , after almost a whole year since we traveled to Greece to visit them.
Especially Gabriel was thrilled with his grandfather, an ex-boxing athlete, and he wanted constantly to show him how strong he was. Especially after just having eaten one of his meals!

And then he challenged his grandfather to find out who the strongest was! :-))

The beauty of maternity!

This was our third photo session with Angelina; a boudoir session first, her wedding a couple of months later and now while expecting their baby! For John it was only ... the second time!

But both of them were just a joy to photograph! Happy, relaxed and anxious. You see, the baby is due to arrive in a couple of weeks, thus no time to wait for a better weather.

Angelina though was really brave. We went for a walk in the forest and although the temperature was just a couple of degrees above zero, she showed us proudly the belly!

Everything became much easier a little later when we continued photographing in the studio.

Bertill Vallien launhes his new book about his glass art design.

Bertill Vallien's new book "Trasparent Boundaries" was introduced to the public  at Schefflerska Palatset (Spökslottet) in Stockholm, yesterday evening.

Bertill Vallien is by far the most internationally celebrated glass artist and designer in Sweden and is known most of all as the master of sand moulding. He is retained by the world famous Costa Boda since 1963.
Since Costa Boda and Örrefors are one company in our days, "Spökslottet" was a perfect choice for the ceremony. You see, there it is kept a unique collection of glass artifacts from Orrefors, some of them made by Edvard Hald, who has been inspiration and glass-art ideal for Vallien.
